Hot Yoga Teacher
Lisa has been practicing yoga of various styles for over 17 years. Her yoga journey really began when she found a style (Bikram yoga) that helped heal her depression. Experiencing such profound healing first hand she felt naturally drawn to help others experience the same, and so she decided to become a teacher.
Lisa certified as a Bikram yoga teacher in 2010. Her classes have a calm meditative element to them with the focus on technique and good alignment. She likes to remind her students that yoga practice is more about exploring an inner path to happiness & contentment rather than showing off the perfect posture.
“Yoga has increased in popularity exponentially over the past 10 years. The yoga world is so noisy and potentially intimidating for the new student. There’s a fine line between inspirational practice and unachievable perfectionism. Yoga is for everybody! I like to encourage my students to first and foremost connect with themselves via the breath and focus on letting go one moment at a time no matter what their postures look like. The external heat of Bikram yoga provides the student with no choice but to focus on the breath. It is a highly meditative yoga style that has profound healing benefits when practiced over time”
